Renowned folk singer and Padma Bhushan recipient, Sharda Sinha, passed away at the age of 72 due to complications from cancer. She had been undergoing treatment at AIIMS Delhi since October 25, where she was diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a cancer affecting the bone marrow, in 2017. Sinha was on a ventilator and succumbed to refractory shock caused by septicemia. Her son confirmed her passing, sharing a heartfelt message that "Chhathi Maiya" had called her. Sinha was known for her contribution to traditional folk music and was a beloved figure in the music community.
