The court has strongly opposed illegal demolitions targeting individuals accused of crimes, emphasizing that such actions undermine constitutional principles. The bench, led by Justices BR Gavai and KV Viswanathan, has previously declared that even a single instance of such demolition goes against the Constitution's ethos. In its latest hearing, the court referred to the illegal demolition of a house in Uttar Pradesh and stressed that citizens’ property rights must be respected under the rule of law.
