Indian pacer Mohammed Shami’s coach, Badruddin Siddique, spoke about Shami’s remarkable fitness recovery after a year-long injury break. Shami, 34, self-tested his fitness by running barefoot in muddy fields in his hometown before getting a fitness certificate from the National Cricket Academy (NCA). Badruddin, who has coached Shami since childhood, believes that if Shami maintains his fitness, he can continue playing for another three years. After overcoming multiple injuries, Shami returned to competitive cricket for Bengal, taking four wickets against Madhya Pradesh in his first match back.
