Delhi's Environment Minister, Gopal Rai, has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, urging immediate approval for artificial rain to tackle the capital’s severe pollution crisis. Highlighting the dangerous air quality index (AQI) of 494, Rai emphasized the urgency of action, terming the situation a "medical emergency." Despite repeated letters to Union Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav since August, no response was received. Rai criticized the central government, calling it their "moral responsibility" to address pollution. Citing successful experiments like Kanpur IIT's cloud seeding, he pressed for immediate measures to save Delhi from toxic smog enveloping the region.
