The BJP-led Mahayuti alliance in Maharashtra has taken a commanding lead with 216 seats in the 288-member Assembly, surpassing the majority mark of 145. The opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) trails with 60 seats. In Jharkhand, Hemant Soren's INDIA bloc crossed the majority with 49 leads in the 81-seat Assembly, while the NDA holds 30 seats. Maharashtra witnessed a single-phase election on November 20, while Jharkhand's polls were conducted in two phases. Key battles include Aaditya Thackeray leading in Worli and Hemant Soren contesting in Barhait. Meanwhile, bypolls across 13 states are also underway, including Priyanka Gandhi’s debut in Wayanad.
