A Delhi court ordered charges, including murder, arson, and rioting, against 25 accused in the 2020 Delhi riots case that resulted in Head Constable Ratan Lal's death. The court noted the mob's "preplanned criminal conspiracy" and violent intent during protests against CAA/NRC. Lal, who sustained 24 injuries while shielding officers, succumbed to gunshot and assault wounds. Two other senior officers were severely injured, with over 50 police personnel wounded. The court dismissed arguments of constitutional rights and stressed that the protests were not peaceful. Formal framing of charges is set for December 3. Two accused were discharged for insufficient evidence.
