Beau Webster, a 30-year-old Tasmanian all-rounder, has been added to Australia's squad for the day-night Test against India in Adelaide as cover for Mitchell Marsh. Webster, named Sheffield Shield Player of the Year, amassed 448 runs and 16 wickets this season. He also became the second player in 132 years after Sir Garry Sobers to score 900+ runs and take 30 wickets in a season. If Marsh remains unfit, Webster could debut in the second Test following Australia’s 295-run loss in Perth. Tasmanian captain Jordan Silk praised Webster as a "special player" capable of turning matches with bat and ball.
