Six days after Maharashtra’s assembly election results, suspense remains over the new state leadership. Sources revealed that Eknath Shinde, the caretaker CM, is seeking 12 ministerial berths for Shiv Sena. While offered the deputy CM role, Shinde is pushing for the home and urban development portfolios. During a meeting with Mahayuti leaders at Amit Shah’s residence, talks continued over the distribution of portfolios. Shinde is also advocating for a cabinet berth for his son, Shrikant, at the Centre. Decisions on the final lineup are expected after a meeting in Delhi with BJP top brass.
