A 17-year-old student shot and killed his principal, Surendra Kumar Saxena, in Chhatarpur district, Madhya Pradesh, on Friday. The student followed Saxena into the washroom and shot him at close range. Afterward, he stole the principal's scooter and fled towards Uttar Pradesh. Police caught him near the border, still in possession of the pistol. The motive remains unclear, but the student had been previously warned by Saxena for his behavior. Authorities are investigating how the student acquired the firearm. Saxena, 55, was remembered by colleagues as a kind and helpful teacher.
