Gold Chains, Phones Stolen During Maharashtra Govt Swearing-in Event, Items Worth Rs 12 Lakh Taken

At least Rs 12 lakh worth of valuables, including gold chains, mobile phones, and cash, were stolen during the swearing-in ceremony of Maharashtra’s Mahayuti government at Azad Maidan on December 5. The high-profile event, attended by BJP's Devendra Fadnavis, Shiv Sena’s Eknath Shinde, and NCP’s Ajit Pawar, saw over 40,000 attendees. The theft occurred as people exited the venue through gate number two, where thieves took advantage of the crowd. Police have filed FIRs and are reviewing CCTV footage to identify the culprits, but no arrests have been made yet.
