BJP leader Smriti Irani said Arvind Kejriwal’s defeat shows that people have rejected him. "They have left him free enough to go to jail now and pay for his crimes," she said at the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj. She called Kejriwal "one of the most corrupt politicians in India." Kejriwal lost to BJP’s Parvesh Verma in New Delhi. Other AAP leaders, including Manish Sisodia and Saurabh Bhardwaj, also lost. The BJP is leading in over 45 seats, while AAP is trailing. Irani credited PM Modi for BJP’s win and said, "BJP will win in Bihar next."
