Rescue operations continue in Telangana's Nagarkurnool district, where eight workers have been trapped for nearly 48 hours following the collapse of a section of the Srisailam Left Bank Canal (SLBC) tunnel. The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) is working to drain accumulated water and remove debris to reach the trapped individuals. NDRF Deputy Commandant Sukhendu Datta reported that teams have advanced approximately 13.5 kilometers into the tunnel using locomotives and conveyor belts. However, the final 200 meters remain obstructed by muck and silt, complicating rescue efforts. Telangana Minister J. Krishna Rao expressed concerns about the workers' survival, citing the severity of the collapse and the challenging conditions inside the tunnel.
