West Bengal education minister Bratya Basu’s car was attacked at Kolkata’s Jadavpur University during a WBCUPA meeting. Protesters, allegedly ultra-left student union members, damaged his car and heckled professors, including the vice-chancellor. A police vehicle was also attacked, and furniture was set on fire. Basu suffered minor injuries and was treated at SSKM Hospital. The clash erupted over demands for student body elections, with CPI(M) and TMC student wings blaming each other. A student was also injured. TMC leader Kunal Ghosh called it a "planned conspiracy," while CPI(M) alleged students were provoked. Police and RAF were deployed.
