The body of Himani Narwal, a 22-year-old Congress worker, was discovered in a suitcase near Sampla bus stand in Rohtak on March 1, 2025. Narwal, who had participated in the 2023 Bharat Jodo Yatra, was found with mehndi designs on her hands, suggesting recent celebrations. Police suspect strangulation before she was stuffed into the suitcase. Narwal had been active in the 2024 Haryana assembly elections. Congress leaders, including Bharat Bhushan Batra and Bhupinder Singh Hooda, demanded an SIT probe into the “premeditated murder.” Authorities have registered a case, and the body has been sent for post-mortem.
