On March 10, 2025, Punjab Police apprehended Shehnaz Singh, also known as Shawn Bhinder, a transnational drug trafficker wanted by the FBI for his involvement in a global narcotics syndicate. Singh was a key figure in smuggling cocaine from Colombia into the United States and Canada. Following a U.S. operation on February 26 that resulted in the arrest of his associates and the seizure of 391 kg of methamphetamine, 109 kg of cocaine, and four firearms, Singh fled to India. Punjab Police successfully tracked and arrested him in Tarn Taran, demonstrating their commitment to combating drug trafficking and organized crime.
