In the wake of the deadly terror attack in Pahalgam, which claimed at least 25 lives, locals held a candle march to condemn the violence. “We are Indian first, then Kashmiri, and we condemn those responsible for this heinous act,” said one participant. Chief Minister Omar Abdullah stated the death toll is still being confirmed. Prime Minister Modi condemned the attack, promising justice for the perpetrators. Modi also spoke to Union Home Minister Amit Shah has been briefed about the situation in Srinagar in urgent security review meeting. Security forces continue to investigate and respond to the attack.
