In one of the deadliest terror attacks in Jammu and Kashmir in recent years, 26 people, including a Navy officer and an Intelligence Bureau (IB) officer, were killed when terrorists opened fire on tourists in Pahalgam’s Baisaran Valley on Tuesday. The picturesque meadow, often called 'Mini Switzerland', turned into a site of horror as attackers emerged from the forest and began shooting indiscriminately. Among the deceased was IB officer Manish Ranjan, killed in front of his wife and children, and a Navy officer on vacation. Military helicopters were deployed to evacuate the injured. Authorities have launched a full-scale anti-terror operation in the region. (PC: NDTV)
