Indian security agencies have identified and released sketches of four suspects involved in the April 22 Pahalgam attack that killed 26 tourists, including three from West Bengal. The Resistance Front (TRF), a Lashkar-e-Taiba proxy, claimed responsibility. The attackers Adil, Asif Fauji, Suleman Shah, and Abu Talha are believed to have crossed from Pakistan days prior. The mastermind, Saifullah Khalid alias Saifullah Kasuri, is a top Lashkar leader and close aide of Hafiz Saeed. Initially planning an IED blast, the militants split into two groups, launching a surprise gun attack on tourists in Baisaran Valley. The Jammu and Kashmir government announced compensation: ₹10 lakh for each deceased's family, ₹2 lakh for the severely injured, and ₹1 lakh for the less injured. (PC: Anandabazar Online)
