In the wake of recent terrorist attacks in Pahalgam, senior CPI(M) leader Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami has strongly condemned the violence, asserting that such acts only perpetuate suffering and instability. He extended heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased Sarpanch and wished a speedy recovery for the injured. Tarigami emphasized that violence is not a solution and called for justice and accountability. He criticized the central government's approach towards Jammu and Kashmir, highlighting that the region has been turned into a "virtual prison" and a "graveyard" following the abrogation of Article 370. Tarigami urged the government to restore constitutional rights, end the misuse of laws like UAPA, and adopt a humane approach to address the grievances of the Kashmiri people. He appealed for peace and the reinstatement of civil liberties to ensure dignity and livelihood for the residents of the region. (PC: Outlook India & The Times of India)
