In India's largest anti-Naxal operation, over 20,000 security personnel from Chhattisgarh, Telangana, and Maharashtra have encircled more than 1,000 Naxals in Chhattisgarh's Bijapur district. At least five Naxals have been killed in the operation, which has been ongoing for over 48 hours. The forces, including DRG, Bastar Fighters, STF, state police units, CRPF, and CoBRA, have surrounded the Karregutta hills along the Chhattisgarh-Telangana border, aiming to cut off all escape routes. This area is known as the base of Maoists' battalion no. 1. The crackdown follows Union Home Minister Amit Shah's directive to eliminate Naxalism by March 31, 2026. (PC: Mint & Money Control)
