India faces an unprecedented security challenge as Pakistani drones, missiles, and artillery targeted key regions on May 8. Explosions were reported on the Jammu-Srinagar Highway, and heavy firing began in Uri and Rajouri. Indian air defence systems, including the S-400 Sudarshan Chakra and L-70, intercepted attacks on Srinagar Airport, Jaisalmer HQ, and Pokhran. Drones were downed near Phalodi, Jammu, and Poonch. Blackouts have been imposed across Army bases in J&K and villages in Gujarat's Kachchh. Civilian courts closed in Punjab; the Defence Minister is reviewing the situation. Sirens and alerts continue as India remains on high alert.
