A part of the roof at Terminal 1 of Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport collapsed early Sunday after heavy rainfall. The damaged membrane structure had been installed after last year’s fatal incident. Delhi International Airport said the section adjusted under pressure to release water and there was no damage to the main structure. Flight operations were hit, with 49 flights diverted between 11:30 PM and 4 AM. Many roads across the city saw heavy waterlogging and traffic jams. The India Meteorological Department recorded 81.2 mm of rain and strong winds up to 82 kmph in just six hours overnight.
