On May 27, 2025, India’s Defence Minister approved the execution framework for the Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) program, a critical move toward developing the country’s first fifth-generation stealth fighter jet. The AMCA, spearheaded by the Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA) and supported by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), is targeted for induction by 2035. The project will follow a public-private partnership model involving major Indian firms like Tata Group and L&T.
