On June 1, 2025, India witnessed extreme weather events across several regions. In Delhi and the NCR, powerful dust storms with wind speeds up to 80 km/h disrupted life, uprooted trees, and caused property damage. The IMD issued warnings for thunderstorms, strong winds, and rainfall across Delhi, Noida, Gurugram, and nearby areas. Simultaneously, heavy monsoon rains triggered severe floods and landslides in Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, and Sikkim, affecting over 78,000 people and claiming at least 17 lives.
