More than 200 people have died in heavy floods in Mokwa, Nigeria, with around 500 still missing. Officials say the floods, the worst in 60 years, swept through towns after strong rains. Rescue efforts have stopped, as no more survivors are expected. Many families lost homes and loved ones. One man, Adamu Yusuf, said, “I watched helplessly as water washed away my wife and baby.” Authorities will dig up buried bodies to stop disease. Roads and bridges are damaged, hurting the local economy. Relief aid has started, and the Nigerian Red Cross called it a disaster with huge loss of life. (PC: Gift Ufuoma)
