The UK is likely to have a hotter-than-usual summer this year, the Met Office has said. There is a 2.3 times higher chance of above-average temperatures from June to August. Heatwaves may also occur, though not all days will be extremely hot. Saturday marked the end of spring with temperatures 8°C higher than normal. Spring 2025 was also the sunniest and driest in over 100 years. The southeast is expected to be the warmest, with average temperatures between 16-17°C. Experts warn this trend matches global warming patterns. Warm nights and dry spells could continue in the coming months. (PC: PA)
