In response to devastating landslides in North Sikkim, the Indian Army, alongside the Air Force and Border Roads Organisation, has launched extensive rescue operations. Over 1,600 tourists, including 113 in Lachen, have been evacuated, with 30 airlifted from Chaten despite adverse weather conditions. The Army's Trishakti Corps restored mobile connectivity, established medical aid booths treating over 115 individuals, and distributed essential supplies. Efforts continue to locate six missing persons, while the India Meteorological Department issues a red alert for ongoing heavy rains.
