US Congressman Brad Sherman urged Pakistan to take decisive action against terror group Jaish-e-Mohammed, citing its role in the 2002 murder of journalist Daniel Pearl. During a meeting with Pakistani leaders in Washington, Sherman also raised concerns over religious minority rights and demanded the release of Dr Shakil Afridi, who helped the CIA locate Osama bin Laden. Sherman called JeM a “vile” group and reminded the delegation of its continued threat in South Asia. The lawmaker also referenced India’s concerns about Pakistan-backed terror, discussed during a parallel visit by Indian MPs following the recent Pahalgam terror attack. (PC: India Today)
