A massive fire erupted at Sabad Apartment in Delhi’s Dwarka Sector 13 around 10 am on June 10, engulfing flats on the 6th–9th floors. Thick smoke and visible flames drew eight fire tenders, later reinforced, as officials feared 2–3 individuals trapped inside. In a tragic attempt to escape, two 10‑year‑olds—a boy and a girl and their father, Yash Yadav, leapt from their 7th‑floor balcony. The children died at Aakash Hospital, and Yadav passed away at IGI Hospital. Yadav’s wife and elder son survived and are receiving treatment. Authorities evacuated all residents, shut off power and gas, and deployed DDA and MCD to inspect structural integrity.
