Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla prepares to become the second Indian in space and first to dock with the International Space Station aboard the Axiom-4 mission. Originally scheduled for June 10, the launch has been rescheduled to June 11 from NASA's Kennedy Space Center. His hometown Lucknow erupted in celebration, with his Aliganj neighborhood decorated in tricolor banners and life-size cutouts. The family performed traditional prayers while neighbors organized festivities. Shukla will join astronauts from the US, Poland, and Hungary on the 14-day research mission, conducting experiments to support India's Gaganyaan program and global space research initiatives.
