Sonam Raghuvanshi, 25, has been accused of orchestrating the murder of her husband Raja during their honeymoon in Meghalaya. Police allege she initially paid ₹15,000—taken from Raja’s wallet—to assailants, then raised the bounty to ₹20 lakh post-murder . Investigators claim she conspired with her alleged lover, Raj Kushwaha, and three hired killers who tail-tracked the couple from Kamakhya Temple and executed the plan on May 23 near Wei Sawdong Falls, using a dao. Raja’s body was recovered on June 2. Sonam surrendered in Ghazipur and is now in Meghalaya under transit remand, while the investigation intensifies.
