Sonam, accused of murdering her husband Raja Raghuvanshi during their honeymoon in Meghalaya, has been sent to police custody till June 19 along with her alleged lover Raj Kushwaha and three accomplices. Raja (29) went missing on May 23; his body was found on June 2 in a gorge near Sohra. Sonam surrendered in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghazipur after others were arrested. Police claim Kushwaha, an accountant in Sonam’s family business, planned the murder but stayed back to avoid suspicion. Sonam confessed during SIT interrogation; her formal statement under Section 164 CrPC and video-recorded confession are being prepared for court. (PC: News18)
