An Air India Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, operating as Flight AI 171 from Ahmedabad to London Gatwick, crashed shortly after takeoff on Thursday afternoon. The aircraft was carrying 242 passengers. Air India confirmed the incident and stated it is working closely with emergency teams. "We are ascertaining details and will share verified updates," the airline said. Dramatic visuals showed thick smoke near the crash site. Over two dozen ambulances were deployed, and injured passengers have been taken to nearby hospitals.
