Tata Group, the owner of Air India, has announced ₹1 crore compensation for families of each deceased passenger in the tragic crash of Flight 171 near Ahmedabad. The Boeing 787 Dreamliner crashed shortly after takeoff, with over 240 people onboard. While the death toll is yet to be confirmed, the group pledged to also cover medical expenses of the injured and help rebuild the BJ Medical College hostel that was struck. “We are deeply anguished… Our prayers are with the families,” said Tata’s statement.
