Union Home Minister Amit Shah confirmed there was “no chance of survival” after the Air India AI171 crash in Ahmedabad, citing the plane’s 1.25 lakh litres of fuel and extreme post-crash temperatures. The Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, with 230 passengers and 12 crew, crashed five minutes after take-off, slamming into a medical college hostel. Shah said DNA samples from families are being collected to identify victims, and the final toll will follow testing. PM Modi was briefed immediately.
