Air India Flight AI-171 crashed in Ahmedabad shortly after take-off, killing 241 of the 242 people on board. Experts believe the Boeing 787 Dreamliner lost lift at just 672 feet. The pilots reportedly pulled the yoke to try gaining altitude but failed, possibly due to low engine thrust. A Mayday call was sent moments before the crash. The plane caught fire after hitting the ground. There were 169 Indians and 53 British nationals among the passengers. A high-level committee will investigate the cause. Prime Minister Narendra Modi said he is “stunned” and is following the situation with top officials. (PC: X)
