Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Ahmedabad on Friday following the deadly crash of Air India Flight AI171. The Boeing 787-8, carrying 242 passengers, crashed minutes after take-off into a medical college hostel, killing over 200. Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu confirmed the formation of a high-level investigation committee. Home Minister Amit Shah, after visiting the injured, said the aircraft had over 1 lakh litres of fuel, and the heat made rescue nearly impossible. A mayday call was sent before contact was lost. Emergency services, including 24 ambulances, are continuing rescue operations. Most injured are medical students. (PC: NDTV)
