Rescue workers at the Air India Flight 171 crash site in Ahmedabad discovered an almost-intact copy of the Bhagavad Gita amid the burnt wreckage that claimed 265 lives. The holy book's pages remained mostly untouched despite a massive fire caused by 1.25 lakh litres of burning fuel. The jacketed cover showed some damage, but images and text, including that of ISKCON founder Swami Prabhupada, were visible. Social media users called it a “coincidence.” The crash killed 241 onboard and 24 on the ground. Only one person, British national Vishwash Kumar Ramesh, survived. Investigations into the deadly crash are still underway.
