Following the fatal Ahmedabad crash that killed 265 people, India’s Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has ordered urgent enhanced safety inspections for all Air India Boeing 787 Dreamliners starting June 15. The checks will cover fuel systems, electronic engine controls, hydraulic operations, and flight control systems. The order includes GenX engine-equipped aircraft. This follows recurring technical snags and past concerns over Boeing 787’s structural integrity. The DGCA will review detailed reports post-inspection. The crash, which involved a Dreamliner hitting a residential building, marks the first fatal 787 accident since its 2011 debut. Boeing stated it is assisting Air India. (PC: India Today)
