DNA Tests Identify 47 Victims Of Ahmedabad Plane Crash; 24 Bodies Handed Over To Families

Three days after the Ahmedabad Air India crash, authorities have identified 47 victims through DNA tests, with 24 bodies handed over to families. Most remains were charred beyond recognition, necessitating DNA matching. According to Dr Rajnish Patel, the deceased hailed from Rajasthan and various parts of Gujarat. The Boeing 787-8 (AI171), bound for London, crashed into a medical college campus in Meghaninagar shortly after takeoff, killing 242 passengers and crew and 29 others on the ground, including 5 MBBS students.
