As Israel and Iran intensify their missile exchanges, over 1,500 Indian students—mostly from Jammu and Kashmir—are being relocated to safer locations within Iran. The Indian Embassy in Tehran is actively monitoring the situation and coordinating student movements, the Ministry of External Affairs confirmed. Many students are pursuing MBBS degrees in cities like Tehran, Qom, and Shiraz. Appeals from families prompted intervention by J&K Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar. The embassy also urged Indian nationals to remain calm and provided links for updates. “Other feasible options” for evacuation are under review amid escalating regional hostilities.
