Following the tragic June 12 crash of Air India Flight 171 in Ahmedabad that killed 279 people, India’s aviation regulator DGCA has intensified its probe. The Boeing 787 Dreamliner crashed shortly after takeoff, hitting a medical hostel. DGCA has summoned Air India’s engineering team over recurring technical faults in the aircraft model. It has also demanded complete training logs of pilots—Captain Sumeet Sabharwal and First Officer Clive Kunder—and the flight dispatcher. Nationwide, all flight schools have been ordered to conduct strict audits of training protocols, safety standards, and licensing procedures to reinforce aviation safety across the country. (PC: X)
