Two people were killed and three injured after a landslide struck the Kedarnath trek route near Junglechatti ghat on Wednesday. The incident occurred at 11:20 am when boulders rolled down the hillside, hitting pilgrims and palanquin-porters, Rudraprayag SP Akshay Prahlad Konde said. Victims fell into a gorge due to the impact. Police, SDRF, and locals launched a rescue operation using ropes to retrieve the injured and deceased. A woman sustained minor injuries, while two men were seriously hurt and shifted to Gaurikund health centre. The deceased have not been identified yet. Pilgrim movement continues under tight police supervision. (PC: NDTV)
