Joe Root has eclipsed Sachin Tendulkar’s record for most runs in India‑England Tests on English soil. Root now has 1,579 runs, surpassing Tendulkar’s 1,575, during Day 2 of the First Test at Headingley. He’s also the all‑time leading scorer in the India‑England series, with 2,862 runs across 56 innings, ahead of Tendulkar at 2,535. At 34, Root ranks fifth in overall Test runs 13,019, trailing Tendulkar’s 15,921 in 200 matches.
