The black box from the crashed Air India flight AI 171 is still in India and is being examined, said Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu. The flight, a Boeing 787, crashed near Ahmedabad airport on June 12, killing 274 people. Reports about sending the black box to the US were called false by officials. The black box was badly damaged due to fire. It holds key data that can explain what caused the crash. So far, engine failure is being seen as a possible reason.
