Gujarat’s health department confirmed 275 deaths in the June 12 Air India Dreamliner crash in Ahmedabad—241 onboard and 34 on ground. The London-bound flight crashed moments after takeoff, slamming into B J Medical College’s hostel complex. Only one person survived. Victims included 120 men, 124 women, and 16 children. Most were identified via DNA; 256 bodies have been returned to families. Among the deceased: 199 Indians, 52 Britons, 7 Portuguese, and 1 Canadian. The Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau is probing the cause. Flight data and cockpit recorders have been recovered. The crash also killed 5 MBBS students in the hostel. (PC: PTI)
