US President Donald Trump has dismissed a leaked Pentagon assessment suggesting the recent US strikes on Iran only delayed its nuclear programme by a few months. The report from the Defense Intelligence Agency contradicts Trump’s claims that Iran’s nuclear facilities were “completely destroyed.” Posting on Truth Social, Trump called CNN and The New York Times “fake news” for reporting the leak, insisting it was “one of the most successful military strikes in history.” Despite the controversy, the ceasefire between Iran and Israel appears to be holding.
