Air India Crash: Black Box Decoding Begins In Delhi To Uncover Cause Of AI171 Tragedy

The Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) has begun decoding the black box data from Air India Flight AI171, which crashed on June 12 shortly after takeoff from Ahmedabad. The Cockpit Voice Recorder and Flight Data Recorder were recovered on June 13 and 16 and flown to Delhi on June 24 by the Indian Air Force under full security. Data extraction began the same evening with experts from AAIB and the US National Transportation Safety Board. Analysis is now underway to reconstruct the crash sequence and identify contributing factors, with the aim of enhancing aviation safety and preventing future accidents. (PC: PTI)
