Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi issued a public apology after a tragic stampede during the Jagannath Yatra in Puri claimed three lives and injured several others. The incident occurred at the entrance of the Gundicha temple when devotees rushed in amidst inadequate crowd control measures. CM Majhi expressed deep regret and announced an ex-gratia of ₹5 lakh each to the families of the deceased. He also ordered a high-level probe and assured that strict action would be taken against those responsible.
