Delhi-NCR saw heavy rainfall on Sunday as the monsoon arrived a day early. The rain brought relief after a long heatwave. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said more rain with thunder and wind is expected soon. This year, the monsoon reached all parts of India nine days early. It began in Kerala on May 24, the earliest since 2009. The IMD issued red alerts for Odisha, Jharkhand, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand. Orange alerts were issued for Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, and western UP. People are advised to stay alert as more rain and storms are likely this week. (PC: PTI)
